In February, Andi Smith stood alone in the cold in Edwardsville with a protest sign.
Then someone walking their dog stopped. The next day, more people joined. And they kept coming.
Now, that one-person protest has grown into a weekly Friday gatheringโand nearly 2,000 people showed up for the latest No Kings event. She's been talked about by our Illinois Governor JB Pritzker and he counts her as an inspiration. Rachel Maddow has also mentioned the Edwardsville protest on her talk show.
